Just go with a tuxedo. Any other use is geek in general. However, for reasons of work Geekiness postmodernism, if you already have a reputation for the bizarre (think Frank Zappa, "Weird Al" or "cry" Saved by the Bell). In addition, non-formal: Tux is a need?

Here in the United States, a bird is usually someone known to the politically conservative, fashion or not bound by the Convention. The unique and not everyone can. Hats off, if you tie your own instead of with a clip.

Since you want to know, for me personally that they are better in a tuxedo. Others, who seem to make people tense and stupid. Old-fashioned. I hate them. But that's my opinion. You are who you are and if you like is what really counts. Good luck.
